Biševo is an island in the south part of the Adriatic Sea located near Vis. Its area is 6 square kilometers and it has around 20 inhabitants. It is small island, so the most common accommodations in Biševo are private apartments, where you can enjoy the silence and peace. In the middle of the island, there is small field of the vine and olive trees. Island is connected by ferry with the Komiža on the nearby island Vis.The biggest attraction of Biševo is cave Modra Špilja. It fascinates tourists and visitors with its silver blue interior and the sunlight coming from the hole in the ceiling.You can also visit another cave called Medvedina. It is home of Mediterranean Monk Seal (Monachus monachus), which is going to become extinct. Today Medvedina is shelter to fishermen when the strong wind blows.Besides caves, you shouldn’t forget to visit vineyards, where they produce high quality wine called “Biševski plavac”.
