Today's Dalmatian territory has many remains of defending buildings and walls which were built at the time of the Ottoman occupation. We can find one in Grebastica know as "Bastion", which had guarded the Ostrica peninsula against the mainland. Bastion is a symbol of the place and tourist attraction in the region today. The Bastion is a wall ten meters high and one meter wide, with battlements and loopholes and was built in the late 15th century. The Church of the Holy Spirit was built later nearby, as the expression of gratitude of the inhabitants of Grebastica for the salvation from the attacks of the Ottomans. The Bastion is well preserved. Many associations and cultural clubs of the area bare its name today. The visit to the Bastion Grebastica is just something you must do when renting an apartment, room or holiday house in Grebastica where from you can enjoy the panorama view of the surrounding islands and the coast full of beautiful coves and beaches.
