Baska Voda is a place in Splitsko – Dalmatinska County, about 48 kilometers on south from Split, at the foot of mountain Biokovo.
Climate is Mediterranean, so winters are wet but mild, and summers are hot and sunny. An average temperature in July is 24 degrees Celsius for the air and 25 degrees Celsius for the sea, and in January 8,3 degrees Celsius for the air and 13,5 degrees of Celsius for the sea. Unlike at mountain Biokovo, the snow is extremely rare phenomenon in the coastal area, and it is interesting to note that in some years in May is possible on the same day to enjoy the snow on the peaks Biokova and swim in the already fairly warm sea.
Total population of Baska Voda district is 2924 inhabitants, according to population census from 2001. In the past most of them were farmers and fishermen, but today many of them are engaged in tourism as Baska Voda is well developed tourist destination today.
It contains many capacities in private apartments and hotel accommodation types. Also it has a camp. Level of service in accommodation capacities is on the high level today.
Active holidays are highlighted in Baska Voda, so a tourist can play many sports and try diving, para-sailing, paragliding, hiking and some other extreme sports.
From sights, it should be highlighted the Church of St. Nikola, small church of St. Roko and statue of St. Nikola. But Baska Voda has much more sights which could be the best know when you see them.
