Barban is a small, acropolis town located above the valley and the mouth of the river Raša and with that picturesque and beautiful configuration, draws the attention of many chance travelers who wonder here. It has well traffic connections, since it is on the road from Pula to Rijeka and Labin, and its distance from Pula is about 27 kilometers and 18 kilometers from so called Istrian epsilon.
An area of 100 square kilometers has a population of 2800 inhabitants, who are increasingly turning to tourism. Around the small community spreads idyllically green area, in which are located 72 hamlets. Barban exudes of history, because it is a place that has a lots of important buildings, and the existence of Barban dates somewhere from 13 century. In addition to numerous churches, relics and inscriptions in Barban, the most interesting are the walls and doors from Middle Ages, when Barban was well established, defending small town.
