Bol is a place and district on the island Brac. It is located on the south side of the island. As it is in the middle of Adriatic, the closest bigger city to it is Split, with which is connected with catamarans and ferries. Also, at the island is the airport, what makes Bol even more attractive tourist destination.
Bol district has total population of 1661 inhabitants, and it is interesting that, as Bol district contains only Bol and Murvica, Bol has 1647, and Murvica only 14 inhabitants. Bol is the oldest coastline village on the island. It is also interesting that on the island Bol is Vidova gora, the highest point (778 meters) of all Croatian islands. It is top tourist destination in Croatia, and many famous world stars visited it and left enchanted by its beauty. One of the most famous beaches in Europe is here, and it is also very famous in the whole word. That beach is Zlatni rat, a favorite spot for surfers from the whole world. Beach Zlatni rat goes about 500 meters into the sea and have specific and breathtaking shape. As always blows some winds at that area, it is a real paradise for surfers.
Accommodation could be found in one of numerous private apartments and villas, or in a hotel rooms and camps. Some of very interesting sights of Bol is Dominican monastery.
